Although her formal entry into the real estate industry did not occur until mid-1999, Sally P. Flinn has been involved in development and facility management issues since the start of her business career. Sally’s assignment, beginning in 1993, in the Department of Facilities Management of the University of Pittsburgh serving as the primary liaison between the school’s vice chancellor and its Engineering and Construction, Architecture and Planning and Environmental Health and Safety departments. Her role was to ensure that the campus building inventory was being maintained to established quality standards. During her 1996-1999 tenure with the Stadium Authority of Pittsburgh, similarly, Sally routinely administered formal contract bidding procedures for building-related professional service contracts and capital maintenance expenditures. She also managed such capital projects as seat replacement and a $4 million retail and restaurant addition at Three Rivers Stadium. Additionally, Sally assisted with property acquisition and demolition activity during the run-up period to the construction of PNC Park and Heinz Field. During almost seven years as project manager with The Rubinoff Company, Sally was involved in pre-development preparations, land planning and design guideline development for several residential , commercial, light industrial and retail projects across Allegheny and Washington counties and in Ohio as well. Her most prominent role was coordinating the many aspects of the planning and construction of Summerset at Frick Park, a signature traditional neighborhood development with a projected completion budget of $260 million. As partner and director of development for Fourth River Development, Sally is currently concentrating her efforts on the firm’s commission to develop Starpointe Business Park in Washington County. She is a member of the National Association of Home Builders Women’s Council and Commercial Real Estate Women of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. |
